Downtown Houston

Sunday morning
(except for Sacred Heart
"a co-cathedral")
with young lady ushers
surprisingly Asian
the city is empty:
half 21st century
half nineteenth--
Main St. Square's
programmed water
dancing in the sun
side by side
with scabrous
parking lots
punctuated
literally with
"street poems"
light rail
that shows what
a city could be
garnished with trash.
