Re “God and man at the Super Bowl," by Bob Ingram—
The cute theologification of the Super Bowl is beguiling but fatally distractive. It is dangerous enough that 99 and 44/100ths of Americans believe more in medieval religious myths than in science.
The Paterno/Sandusky complex obscures a more fatal corruption— first, of university education, followed by Friday night high school religious fêtes. This infantilizaton by entertainment in general leads to worship of electronic morons like Rush Limbaugh as intellectual giants.
